Ricky Gervais has released a video in support of WSPA’S Collars Not Cruelty Campaign which aims to raise awareness of how the fear of rabies leads to the needless death of millions of dogs every year.
The WSPA notes that 20 million dogs are killed annually because of concerns over the spread of rabies. The organisation stresses that “only widespread dog vaccination is scientifically proven to stop this entirely preventable disease, long-term. Compassion works. Cruelty just kills – it destroys dogs and allows rabies to spread.”
